This session started with introduction of Mr. Suresh Shenoy, President WHEELS Global Foundation. He shared with us his journey of WHEELS. He told us that WHEELS stands for Water, Health, Education, Energy, Livelihood and Sustainability. The Wheels Global Foundation is built around these main focuses. Mr. Suresh Shenoy and his colleagues began this journey. In 2003, the first PAN IIT alumni conference was held in Silicon Valley, CA where Bill Gates, the keynote speaker recognized the alumni of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) as the leaders in innovation and technology globally. It was realized that a not for profit organization must be formed to distinguish from the mission of PAN IIT Alumni Foundation, giving rise to WHEELS Global Foundation (WGF) in 2013. Mr. Shenoy relayed to us about the projects that WHEELS is associated with and how it is working to make a difference in the above mentioned aspects. The goal of WHEELS is to increase access, communication, and funding for technologies and/or charitable missions aimed at improving the living conditions of citizens across the globe through the implementation of sustainable programs. One of the projects, associated with WHEELS is the Smart Village Project. Relief funds project for Covid was also initiated by WHEELS under Shenoy sir. He emphasized how it is important for us to act upon sustainability and further inspired the attendees. The session also included a interactive QnA session. Having done that Mr.Suresh Shenoy was presented with a memento as a token of appreciation. The session ended with a quiz for our attendees.
