We are SIGHT

The IEEE Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT) is a special community of engineers and experts who are passionate about solving local problems using leveraging technology solutions. While we think technology has made a big impact on humanity and we cry about not having a flying car by 2020. But unfortunately, there are people who don’t even have a light bulb in their homes. There are volunteers working on projects including energy, healthcare and medicines, water and sanitation, telecommunications, agriculture, education and several others. SIGHT provides a structured way of executing a humanitarian project and provides the necessary resources to drive such an initiative. Being part of SIGHT gives one the opportunity to connect your idea with the community. You can see the community getting changed with your little effort and you will also get personal benefits from it. There is so much you can generate, we just not impose the technology on the community but we work with them and transform the community in such a way that they feel part of the process and their transformation is worth rewarding. We encourage engineers, IEEE members, volunteers and anyone willing to implement humanitarian technology to join IEEE SIGHT today. We guarantee you will have a great experience.
