Nominations invited for IEEE Bombay Section 2021

Dear Member,

On behalf of the 2021 Nominations Committee, I would like to invite your expression of interest to serve as an office-bearer for IEEE Bombay Section for the year 2021.

Note: The revised by-laws were approved in the recent SGM and hence there is a slight delay in the nomination process for 2021. The current team took charge in July 2021 for the same reason.

a. It is imperative to note that the work of the Office Bearer involves in-person meetings with various government officials as we are a registered society (IEEE Mumbai Section Welfare Association). Compliance in the filing of various activities and reporting to the local government authorities on time is one of the key factors in Association setup. Non-Compliance may lead to legal issues.

b. It involves a significant amount of travel in Mumba/Navi Mumbai due to the location of various offices (Income Tax, Charity Commissioner, Auditor, and Tax Consultant). Most of these meetings are in person with proper social distancing.

c. It is a highly time-consuming and committed task and cannot be substituted with online meetings as most of the offices in Mumbai are now open. In addition, it expected that you travel and attend some meetings in person on a regular basis, as well as actively participate in various events held within your jurisdiction. A brief glance of the duties of the office-bearers and the composition of the Office bearer is available at http://ieee-bombay.local/bye-laws

d. The tenure of the Office Bearers ends on the last day of the calendar year.

Kindly send your expression of interest to serve as office bearer by January 17, 2021, to me on QBakir@ieee.org along with a brief note on your credentials and IEEE activities, if any. You may address any queries to the same email-id.

Best Regards,

Quraish Bakir
