Announcing the F.C. Kohli-Lifetime Service Award 2021

Faqir Chand Kohli was founder and first CEO of TCS Tata Consultancy Services, India’s largest Software Services Co. He was also associated with other companies within Tata Group including Tata Power Company and Tata Elxsi, and had been President of Indian Information Technology (IT) services advocacy body NASSCOM. He was a recipient of the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honour, in 2002 for his contributions to the Indian software industry.

He is referred to as the “Father of the Indian IT Industry”, for his contributions to the establishment and growth of the Indian IT industry.

He held executive and leadership roles in professional societies, including being on the board of directors of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) between 1973 and 1974, and was a chairman of the India Council. He was a fellow of IEEE USA.

To commemorate his contribution to the IEEE, Bombay section takes pride in announcing F.C. Kohli-Lifetime Service Award, which will be given to IEEE Volunteer in Leadership Role, for exemplary contribution to the section. The Award consists of a Plaque and Cash Prize of Rs.15,000/-

Applications are solicited for nominations/self-nominations from IEEE professional Members for Significant Contribution to IEEE Bombay Section’s growth. Applications must be supported with relevant documents

The last date for nomination for the awards is 20 May, 2022. The awards will be declared by June 30, 2022.
