We have just been notified by IEEE MGA staff, on-behalf of the R10 Director, that all the elected Officer Bearers, i.e. Chair (and Chair-elect), Secretary and Treasurer have been suspended with effect from tomorrow (Sep 27th).
We thank you for your support till date in betterment of the Section and hope that you will continue to extend the same to the Interim Committee. We will cooperate with the new committee so as to ensure minimum disruptions to the ongoing and planned section activities.
We, the Office Bearers, will pursue all the options available with us against this ex-parte decision taken by the Region 10 & MGA.

]]>The sixth edition of the IEEE Bombay Section Signature Conference IBSSC-2024 will be held during 29 February-2 March, 2024 in Hybrid Mode in association with MGM University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. This flagship event will serve as a forum for canvassing with the theme as “Frontiers of Technologies: Fueling Prosperity of the Planet and People”. This conference will feature a comprehensive high quality technical program including paper presentations, talks from eminent Keynote Speakers, tutorials / expert talks by industry veterans and Exhibits during the conference.
Papers resulted from original work of the authors within the scope of defined tracks of the conference are invited. Review and summary papers are discouraged in this student-centric Conference. ]]>He has also been very active other professional associations and has been Chairman of The Institution of Engineers (India), Maharashtra State Centre for 1973-74 and President of Institution of Engineers (India) for 1989-90. He was also Magnetic Society of India for 1983-1889. He was also Chairman of CII-Western Region and the Bombay Management Association for 1986-87.
He was a director with GKW Industries Ltd and had been on Governing Council of VRCE (currently, VNIT), Nagpur as well as ERDA, Vadodara, SPIT, Mumbai to name a few. He has also been instrumental in creating Indian Standards as part of ETDC 15 Committee.
He passed away on 19th January 2019 and was very active and attended the Execom Meeting as late as November 2018 at the age of 80+.
To commemorate his contribution to the IEEE, IEEE Bombay section takes pride in announcing PR Bapat-Outstanding Volunteer Award which will be awarded to deserving IEEE Volunteer who has dedicated volunteered in various capacities to bring laurels to Bombay Section at global levels. The Award consists of a Plaque and a Cash Prize of Rs.10,000/-
The last date for self-nomination for the awards is 31st May, 2023. The awards will be declared by 30 June, 2023.
Eligibility: IEEE Members (Excluding Student Members) having at least five years of a dedicated contribution in the various sub-section or chapters to achieve the IEEE global objectives.
